Nice illustration that was taken from a rare book from 1884 (actual book pages) -- "THE SOLDIER IN OUR CIVIL WAR" BY FRANK LESLIE. The bombardment sketch is rather grisly and graphic in a few areas, and was originally published as-
The Campaign in Tennessee—Bombardment of Fort Henry—Interior View—Bursting of Rifled 42-Pound Gun.—From a Sketch by
Mr. Lovie-- published in Frank Leslie’s Illustrated Newspaper, Volume XIII, No. 327, p 232-233, March 1, 1862.
The Large print (measures approx. 21.25" x 14.75" ) was reproduced from an engraving depicting : US Civil War, Battle of Fort Henry, Tennessee, Feb. 6, 1862. Confederate gunners killed inside Fort Henry during the Union gunboat bombardment. A 42-pound rifled cannon burst on its 4th firing, killing and wounding many men in the battery.
The other side has two other illustrations: (Nice engraving of a Colonel on Horseback)
Colonel Lewis Wallace and Staff --Zouave Regiment ,Eleventh Indiana Volunteers ---and--Reception by the People of the City of New York of the Sixty-Ninth Regiment on Their Return From Virginia. Escorted in their Arrival by the New York Seventh Regiment.
This would make a nice Post Civil War framed print for a den, or for a Civil War historian. It is NOT framed, would need to be matted and framed. (From a book published only 19 years after the end of the Civil War). Great history and authentic time period print.
