Title: Quinine hunters in Ecuador
Author: Froelich Rainey
Quinine was used as an anti-malaria medicine. It is made from the bark of a particular equatorial tree. The Japanese had blocked the usual Philippines and South Pacific regions, cutting of the USA supply, hence the need for exploration and production in South America.
This is the story of the authors explorations in Ecuador, and the harvesting and production methods used.
